Covid-19- GSLC Education and Youth policy

At Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, the Children and Family Ministry Board nad church staff want to assure families that we are taking all the essential precautions.  We have certain protocols in place to protect children, teachers, volunteers, and staff.  Please note: We will continue to modify changes as needed and follow community standards set by the Sarpy County Health Department, Gretna Public Schools nad CDC.  We will also remain diligent and will be flexible to follow instructions and community standards.  We will modify and readjust as needed.

We will provide children and adults with a safe space to grow in the knowledge of Jesus Christ.  We ask you to help us to do the same by:

1.  Please stay home if your child or family is ill, such as those posted by the CDC (which is subject to change as this situation has shown to have fluidity of symptoms) and include fevers or chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, or diarrhea.

2.  Parents are asked to evaluate their child's health and complete the attached waiver for the 2020-2021 school year.

3.  Masks will be required to enter the building for children 3 years through adults (Wee Lambs students are not included in this.). This will be the standard until a change is warrented. (When social distancing is possible masks may be removed and will be directed by the individual teachers.)

4.  Hand sanitizer is availble at entrances to the building.  Hand washing reminders are located in most bathrooms.

5.  Children will have their own materials, including pencils, crayons, glue sticks, scissors, and other supplies.  Tables and door knobs will be wiped down when needed during quick turn around.

6.  Dismissal will take place out of the sanctuary and MAC doors.  Please go over where you would like your child to meet you after classes/events.

Thank you for your due diligence in keeping Good Shepherd's education buildiong and community safe.
